Massachusetts’s special education law mandates every school district to have a Special Education Advisory Committee or Parent Advisory Council.

The Rockland Special Education PAC is a group of parents committed to providing information and support to parents of children with disabilities.

Our purpose is to:

• Establish better understanding and communication between parents and school officials
• Provide a supportive group of parents who understand the challenges of having children with special needs
• Provide support for special education to meet the needs of all students with disabilities
• Advise school district officials on matters that pertain to education, health, and safety of students with special needs
• Provide information needed for parents to successfully participate in the special education process
• Provide informational meetings and workshops on a variety of related subject matter
